Scholarship Recipient 2020: Ryan Cashman

Lighthouse Contracting Group is actively involved in the Lakes Region community. For example, we serve on local boards and participate at the Huot Technical Center. Additionally, we offer apprenticeship programs and partner with the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation.

Our goal was a $500 LCG Scholarship opportunity for a student pursuing a skilled trade. The submissions came in and one stood out specifically. This year’s scholarship recipient goes to Ryan Cashman.

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT MEETUP

We met Ryan for coffee at Wayfarer Coffee Roasters. In a quiet corner of the café, we discussed Ryan’s career plans and extracurricular activities. Equally important, was his love for the Lakes Region.

INSTAGRAM CONNECTIONS

Ryan heard about the LCG team via Instagram. Check out his 3D renderings at @d2r.design. There you will find custom 3D exterior and interior renderings.

Our favorite design is his A Frame Tiny Home. Can’t you picture yourself having lunch on that picnic table?

If you aren’t following us on Instagram, here is a shameless plug. You can find us at @lighthouse_contracting_group.

We post our current remodels and renovations there. Also, decor inspiration, Parade of Homes and reviews are posted daily.

LAKES REGION SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

As a Laconia High School graduate, Ryan was directed by the guidance department to the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation. Subsequently, he found our scholarship through the applicant page.

Unfortunately, the application deadline has passed. However, the LRSF will be accepting applications in January of 2021.

ABOUT RYAN

Ryan is a senior at Kent State University. He is studying architecture with a minor in construction management. He wants to complete his master’s degree and start his own firm in the Lakes Region.

During his free time, Ryan is part of a fraternity. This group’s yearly philanthropic event benefits the Cleveland Fisher House Foundation. As a result, The Fisher House can provide housing for wounded veterans.

While this school year may look different for Ryan, the LCG team wishes him all the best in his endeavors!
