The Lighthouse Contracting Group is excited to announce that in 2020, we will be partnering with the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation. For the first time, we are offering a $500 Lighthouse Contracting Group Scholarship. It will be awarded in the spring of 2020 to a student entering the construction industry (but not limited to).
Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation (LRSF)
The Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation’s mission is to promote and encourage scholarships and opportunities for higher education among residents of the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
The LRSF, founded in 1956, supported 17 students with $2,650. Since then, they have helped nearly 5,200 recipients with over 6 million dollars.
Who Can Apply?
If you are graduating from Laconia High School, Gilford High School or Belmont High School in New Hampshire, be sure to fill out an application on the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation’s website. The 2019 application deadline has passed, but they will be accepting applications for the 2020-2021 scholarships in January of 2020.
Why This Scholarship Is Important To Us.
Everyone on the LCG team has a unique educational background. We believe that there are a variety of learning opportunities out there. A bachelor’s degree might be right for some. Others might choose an apprenticeship in a skilled trade.
We are hoping this scholarship encourages someone to start their trade-based career. There are so many options to choose from, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, energy technologies and more.
Our goal is to help the next generation see the importance of skilled trades and to make an educational path financially possible.
Who is the 2020 Scholarship Recipient?
This summer, after reviewing all the applications, we chose Ryan Cashman. He is a graduate of Laconia High School and currently attends Kent State University. Read more about him here.
