When contacting Lighthouse Contracting Group for the first time, you will speak or communicate with Jennifer Adams. She is our official Brand Ambassador and will guide you through the initial steps in our Design Build process.
Jennifer comes from a family of craftsmen. Both her grandfathers were skilled wood workers. Her father is a local contractor and her brother, Bill Wood, is our Lead Carpenter! That’s an impressive amount of talent and skill in one family.
Jennifer has a background in Business Management from Cedarville University. After college, she worked at several Lakes Region Businesses. You may have seen her working the front desk at Mill Falls at the Lake Resort. If you lived at a property associated with McCormick Advisory Group/Evergreen Management, you may have spoken to her about association dues. While shopping for home decorating supplies, you may have seen her bustling around carpet samples at The Home Beautiful. Jennifer spent time there as an Administrative Assistant.
After living in the Lakes Region for 23 years, Jennifer moved to Portsmouth where she worked for Key Partners, Inc. as an Office and Training Coordinator. Working at an employment agency provided Jennifer with opportunities to help people through the Workforce Development training program. She also started the Breakfast with Champions Group, a monthly networking event for the unemployed. During each meeting, she would teach candidates how to effectively use social media in their job search.
Key Partners is also where Jennifer had hands-on training with social media, email newsletters, creating marketing materials, website updates and more. This was the beginning of her love for marketing.
In 2010, she met her husband and moved south to Virginia Beach. It was here that she started her own Photography and Design business. She specialized in events, real estate, and portraits.
While visiting family in New Hampshire in 2015, Jennifer met Jeremy Doucet to discuss website design. She and her husband created the website you see today! Since then, Jennifer has been a freelance worker for Lighthouse.
On October 1, 2020, we welcomed Jennifer as an employee of Lighthouse Contracting Group! Her title is Brand Ambassador.
What Does a Brand Ambassador Do?
As Jennifer wears so many hats in the business, we were perplexed about her title going forward. A Brand Ambassador is the “face” of a business. They enthusiastically promote a brand on social media and local events. Am ambassador also creates content. For instance, blogs, newsletters and advertising. This fits Jennifer perfectly!
Jennifer’s friendly voice will be the first one you hear when calling Lighthouse. You may also get to meet her when she makes job site visits. We hope to have her photographing more of our home renovation projects. We are also collaborating on streamlining our systems and processes to continue making your design build experience the best in the Lakes Region!
If you were to sit down for a cup of Joe with Jen, she would say, “There is nothing better than connecting people and good conversation around a cup of coffee!” as she sips and snaps a photo of her almond milk latte art.
Since childhood, Jennifer’s dream was to own a coffee shop. Since then, she has continued that interest and visits coffee shops around the U.S. If you follow her Instagram account, @shinewithjl, she features and reviews each one!
During her free time, Jennifer enjoys hiking, visiting the Seacoast, baking gluten free desserts, traveling, blogging, reading thrillers and capturing landscape photographs. She and her husband recently moved to New Hampshire from Charlotte, North Carolina. They are excited to experience all that New England has to offer!
