Last, but not least, of our team member introductions is our Lead Carpenter, Bill Wood. Once you have met with our sales and design team, Bill will be your main point of contact for the entirety of your home remodel project. Keep reading to learn more about Bill, his carpentry and remodeling background and why we put him in charge of your home.
Bill comes from a long line of carpenters and remodeling comes natural to him. His grandfather was a skilled cabinetmaker and his father, a local contractor. Bill started his apprenticeship in carpentry while still in grade school. Working side by side with his father, he learned all facets of remodeling. He joined Lighthouse Contracting Group (LCG) with 16 years of experience under his tool belt.
Bill joined the LCG team in 2018. He showed initiative and an interest in further learning and developing systems and procedures. He attended lead carpenter training the summer of 2019. A few months later, he began managing the day to day operations of our projects.
Favorite Type Of Remodeling Project
If you are looking for a full remodel of your home, Bill is your man. He enjoys having a variety of work and the contrast of before and after home improvements.
Favorite LCG Project
Just like his teammate, Colby, The Refuge is Bill’s favorite Lighthouse Contracting Group remodel project. He felt the level of craftsmanship expected from the Parade of Homes entry, inspired him to push his carpentry skills to the next level. He also enjoyed the opportunity to plan, design and install the trim packages for the interior and exterior of the lake house.
Certifications & Training
Bill has training from the Vinyl Siding Institute and has completed his Certified Lead Carpenter training. Last month, he attended the NAHB International Builder’s Show (IBS) and the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas. He is currently learning our new online project management tool, CoConstruct.
Bill is excited to attend the upcoming JLC LIVE New England, a residential construction show, in March of 2020. At the conference, he will have the opportunity to perfect his skills, network with exhibiting companies, get up-to-date practical information and attend live building clinics.
For the summer of 2020, Bill will begin working towards his Certified Remodeler Designation through the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).
If you were to sit down for a cup of coffee with Bill, he would bring the coffee pot and make it for you. If you are lucky, he might even bring a choice cut of steak, grill it and serve you lunch. As an easy-going communicator, he would comfortably share the details of his life with you. He is passionate about his two children and wife, eating organic foods and refurbishing furniture and home goods. When he has free time, he enjoys mountain biking and working on his home in Meredith, NH. His favorite places in New Hampshire are quiet woods located near streams or brooks.
Everybody Loves Bill
There is a reason Bill is the leader of our production team. His kind heart and patient personality make him an incredible leader and mentor. He is respectful and kind to everyone. While Bill is at your home, you won’t hear a single curse word, a raised voice or derogatory speech. His laid back, helpful personality fosters a positive, productive workplace. Basically, everybody loves Bill!
